It appears that in our modern world there is a disconnect between what God designed marriage to be and how it is lived out. I’ve been giving talks all year to high school senior girls about what it means to be a Catholic, a Catholic wife, and a Catholic mother. In their context, they aren’t married yet so we touch on finding the one in today’s crazy world and discerning if he is the one, but these talks are easily adaptable to those of us who are already married. Which has led me to this.
How many of us have a basic prayer life?
How many of us understand what it means to submit to our husbands & why we should?
How many of us live out our calling as the body of Christ in our domestic churches?
How many of us truly, unapologetically respect and honor our husbands?
The final battle is on marriage and the family.
Please share. Any woman who desires to be married or is married is welcome.
God willing, this will be a quarterly event. This first one will cover individual prayer and spousal prayer.
Nursing babies and children 3 and under are welcome, but this is a workshop for women to have a minute to look inward so we ask that older children stay home.
We do have a bi-monthly family ministry at our home called Farm to Jesus, and we’d love for you and your family to join us! www.farmtojesus.com
As this is currently planned at my house in the Sandfly neighborhood in Savannah, Georgia, it will be an outside event. Please send me your email address (or sign up on the sign up form below) so that I can send you the address and more information as the date gets closer.
Thank you!

We look forward to seeing you there!
UPDATE 3/26:
Hey y’all!
I know with Holy Week schedules will be busting, but I wanted to send out a quick reminder for the Wives Workshop we’re hosting next Saturday at our house in the Sandfly area of Savannah. We hope to do these quarterly. This first one is on prayer/what does a basic prayer life mean. I’ve been speaking to the seniors at St. Vincent’s Academy since October on the vocation of marriage and motherhood, and I’m adapting those talks to prayerfully fit the needs of women who are discerning marriage or who are already married. You may already be well-versed in these topics, but even so, I encourage you to think about joining us to help be a mentor to the younger wives/mothers! The next one will be on community (probably in July/August), but every talk in the series builds upon the last one.
Please share to whoever you think would enjoy and/or benefit! There is no cost to attend, and we’re providing lunch. It should be a wonderful couple of hours!
* Also, I’ve compiled the talks I’ve given at SVA into a book that is in front of a few publishers for consideration. Two in particular have passed it through their first submission step, so I appreciate any prayers you can spare for it! My only desire is for it to be helpful and to give young women growing up in this crazy culture hope.
*If you’ve already emailed me to sign up, I have you down on the list and will send you the address and more details a couple days before the event.
Thank y’all!
– Kira
